There’s interesting design and patterns all around us. This is a sidewalk in Kingston, New York, where I spent the weekend visiting a friend. This gorgeous decorative kale was at a pumpkin patch, where we got supplies for a carving party. Kale — decorative or otherwise — is the best. Love the corn husks, too. Last Sunday was a gorgeous, sunny day so we went for a long walk around Brooklyn. How beautiful are these pea shoots at the Carroll Gardens farmers market? Loved this back area of GRDN, a cute garden/plant shop in Boerum Hill. And right next door, the logo and weathered sign of Mile End Deli. I love the ceilings in NYC. So many ceilings, so little time. Last week a friend and I hit the Whitney for the massive Jeff Koons exhibit, the last before the museum moves to its new location downtown. So much Jeff Koons, and minimalism this was not. But first, I fell in love with this on the way: “Hollywood Africans” by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Those colors! A detail shot. I love the black and white against that yellow.
